This weekend we just got back from cheering Michelle on for her first triathlon. She was great and it was awesome to see her do it! Great job Michelle.
SWIM
BIKE
RUN We also got to visit with Josie, Addison and Andrea. We went to the fair to see all of the animals Thanks for coming up to see us!.
Since my race and Allee's birthday...we have been super busy. That is why there hasn't been a blog in awhile.
We'll catch you up!
We went to MT for the Fourth of July. We stayed with Nami and Papa for a few days and went to Glacier and played in the "car" a LOT.
Then....we stayed at the cabin on Flathead Lake for the 4th! We played in the water, rode the bike, went to Glacier again and PLAYED!
We got back from a wedding today and kiddo decided that 5pm is a great time to take a nap. Not sure what that will do to bedtime but she was so dang cranky this afternoon I was just glad she finally fell asleep.
Anyhow, here are the promised pictures:
She is starting to be a bit of a ham. Here she is sitting in the newspaper bin. She threw all those papers on the floor so there would be enough room.
I think this was the prelude to a tantrum.
More on Friday, I hope!
Sorry for the late post, things have been a bit hectic. Lorelei is doing great, though! She went on her second field trip this week, to Barnes and Noble for story time (it is right next to the daycare and the library is unfortunately a few miles away). She is also saying 'hi' and 'bye' and occasionally nodding yes. She has also learned the joys of spinning in a circle until she gets dizzy.
I just realized I didn't have time to upload any photos this week so I will add them later.
Off to my next chore!
I think we forgot to mention that LV turned 15 months old on Sunday. Good job, kiddo!
Other things she's been doing: saying NO a lot (well, shaking her head no), saying UP when she wants up, calling everything that has four legs a DOGGIE, even though she was saying kitty just fine before we visited Uncle Max, pointing to whatever she wants to play with/eat/go toward, saying "MINE?" like the seagulls in Finding Nemo whenever she thinks anything should be hers, and having tantrums. The tantrums are relatively mild ones though. I think she's impatient to communicate more with us and gets a bit cranky if we don't quite understand what she wants right away.
Oh, yes, and she is also getting into baby dolls. We discovered this at Grandma and Grandpa's. If you take a toy (in this case a plastic cow) and wrap it in a blanket of some sort, she will carry it around, pat it on the back and coo at it. Then she throws it on the floor when she's done with it. That's why babies shouldn't have babies.
More next week!
Eric's done a great job covering LV the past couple weeks but he forgot to mention one very important thing...she has figured out that shaking her head means NO. So she is saying NO to us all the time now. It was a big communication breakthrough and we are all really excited that we can figure out what she DOESN'T want. Here's hoping that soon she finds the words/gestures/pictograms to tell us what she DOES want soon, though! I bet it's a binky.
Not a terribly exciting week beyond Lorelei's summer program (posted last week) and the return of Mom from Anaheim. Lorelei was more excited by the Micky Mouse bag from Disneyland than the actual stuff Piglet mom bought for her. Such is the way of the babies. We are now visiting the grandparents in Spokane for the Fourth.
I will try to post a video of Lorelei playing with our robot vacuum if I can get my camera hooked up to Grandpa's computer. In the meantime, enjoy some pictures:
